The Appalachian Trail (or simply AT) is one of the big three hiking trails in the US. It takes place in the eastern part of the US, starting in Georgia, in the south, and ending in Maine, at the north. Passing through 14 states, it takes hikers through very varied terrain - mostly wild and forest.
